WICHITA, Kansas – With the election less than four weeks away, Senator Pat Roberts is campaigning by bus over the next few days.

Roberts kicked off the bus tour at noon today in Wichita and brought in more republican heavy-hitters: senators Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and Ted Cruz of Texas.

Both senators believe Roberts is important for upholding conservative principles.

“A year ago last week, when I was standing on the senate floor filibustering on Obamacare, Pat Roberts was one of a handful of senators who came down and stood by my side and said ‘Obamacare is a disaster and we’ve got to stop it'”, said Cruz.

Outside the rally, some supporters of independent candidate Greg Orman showed up carrying Orman signs and shouted his name, trying to drown out Roberts’ supporters.

Jim Jonas, campaign manager for Greg Orman offered this statement:

“Washington is broken. Playing political games and shutting down the government last fall just to score political points was reckless, irresponsible, and everything that’s wrong with Washington today. Bringing Ted Cruz – the architect of last year’s government shutdown – to campaign for him further proves that Senator Roberts is part of the broken system in Washington. Greg would have opposed the government shutdown, and believes that the politicians in Washington need to be working together to solve our problems – not playing political games.“
