SCHWENKSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say the Pennsylvania state trooper killed during a firearms training exercise in suburban Philadelphia when he was fatally wounded after another trooper’s gun accidentally discharged.

State police did not disclose any further information on the incident. The agency is investigating it with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Trooper David Kedra was shot in the chest Tuesday during a yearly training exercise at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Complex in Plymouth Meeting. The 26-year-old was airlifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was the second state trooper to be shot dead in September. Cpl. Bryon Dickson died in an ambush Sept. 12.
