TOPEKA, Kansas (AP) – Topeka police have identified a woman whose body was found outside a home where a blood-covered naked man was detained.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the woman was 22-year-old Lacie Atchison of Topeka. Police are investigating her death as a homicide but haven’t announced how she died.
The investigation began Wednesday morning after neighbors called to report that a naked man had been running around outside screaming. Officers used a stun gun to subdue the man and found the woman’s body at the top of a wooden wheelchair ramp that leads to a home.
Blood could be seen smeared across a large area on the southwest portion of the house, and officers were keeping people well away from what they described as a graphic crime scene.
