Victim identified in tragic turnpike fatal accident

WICHITA, Kansas – Northbound traffic was slowed down near the Belle Plain Service Center after a man was killed in after a car accident on Friday around 8p.m.

The victim was identified as 58-year-old Douglas Rogers from Wichita.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority said that Rogers was in the northbound lane and crashed into a barrier, causing the car to spin around.

The crash caused the headlights of the vehicle to go out, and another car crashed into it.

The fatality occurred while Rogers was out of his car, and was struck by another vehicle, fatally injuring Rogers.
