Police looking for vandals who damaged troll statue

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police are looking for a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman who vandalized a troll statue near the Keeper of the Plains

Two years ago last month, the troll statue was damaged.  Its arm and medallion were missing.

Approximately, two weeks ago, an anonymous person gave information to police about a suspect that had taken pictures with the arm of the troll. Apparently, the two suspects posted pictures of the troll’s arm on Facebook and Twitter.

The two suspects are facing charges of vandalism.

The statue is worth $5,000.

“Actually it was not a felony due to the fact of the statue’s value. It’s estimated to be over $5,000, but with the help of the community and the citizen that cared and had information came forward and provided us the help we needed to solve this vandalism,” said Lt. James Espinoza, Wichita Police Department.

The troll’s arm and medallion have been replaced, and the troll is now back on display.
