TONGANOXIE, Kansas (AP) – Authorities say two people have died in a three-vehicle accident in northeast Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck occurred Monday evening in rural Leavenworth County when a westbound driver sideswiped a trailer being hauled by an eastbound pickup before veering into oncoming traffic. His vehicle hit another car head-on, killing both drivers.

The patrol identified the driver of the westbound car as 46-year-old Bart H. Kissinger of Oskaloosa. The second driver was 39-year-old Brandon L. McKinsey of Tonganoxie. No one else was in either vehicle.

Two people in the truck with the trailer were not injured.
