WICHITA, Kansas – Gov. Sam Brownback promised voters on Monday that he would continue defending their rights and values against federal overreach and policies thrust on Kansas by the Obama Administration.

At a news conference at the Wichita Area Builders Association, Brownback outlined his Road Map 2.0: Fighting for Kansas goals.

The governor said now more than ever states are seeing assaults on their sovereignty, placing the rights and freedoms of residents in jeopardy.

“As governor of Kansas, I have sworn to uphold the state Constitution and protect the rights of all Kansas residents. That includes taking a stand against encroachment upon the rights and freedoms that we all cherish, regardless of the source of the threat,” Brownback said.

The governor, joined by Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism Secretary Robin Jennison, discussed several actions taken by the Brownback administration in the past three years to stand against Washington’s overreach.

Brownback vowed to “keep fighting for Kansas” as the state continues to make a comeback. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
