Salina school no longer on heightened security

SALINA, Kansas – Schilling Elementary in Salina is no longer on heightened security.

It happened around 9 a.m. after shots were reportedly fired at a home a block away in the 1300 block of Crescent Drive.

Upon arrival, police located a 61-year-old woman outside the home with injuries to her face.

She was transported to the hospital.

Police searched the home for the suspect.

At approximately 1 p.m., he was located sleeping under a dump truck near Derby and Foxsboro.

He was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and criminal threat.

Police say no firearms were found inside the home.
