CPIFL and LSFL finalize negotiations for new league

AMARILLO, Texas – The Champions Professional Indoor Football League and the Lone Star Football League have reportedly finalized negotiations to bring about a merger. It’ll likely create the largest indoor football league in the U.S.

The Amarillo Globe-News reports the new additions will include LSFL teams: Amarillo, Odessa, San Angelo and Rio Rancho, N.M. More franchises could potentially join as well.

Featuring at least 11 teams, the new league’s working on an official name and is scheduled to host its first executive & owners meetings starting Aug. 22nd in Wichita. The goals include creating a league office, finalizing details of playing rules and starting work on the 2015 schedule.

The season is expected to begin in the spring.
