Man shot in the face overnight

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a 34-year-old man was shot in the face Tuesday when someone broke into his home.

It happened in the 2200 block of North Piatt.

Around 11 p.m., an unknown man forced his way into the home.

The victim woke up and was shot in the face.

The suspect ran from the home after shooting the 34-year-old man.

The man grabbed his child and drove to Wesley Hospital for treatment. He remains in serious condition.

Police say the child is in protective custody while the father is in the hospital.
