Homeless man accidentally shot in Pratt Co.

PRATT, Kansas – Authorities in Pratt are investigating an accidental shooting.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. east of Lemons Park.

The Pratt County Sheriff’s Office says two boys, 15 & 16 years old, were target practicing in an area south of the Ninnescah River east of Lemon Park in Pratt.

A 42-year-old homeless man was sleeping behind a trash barrel that was being shot into and was struck in the leg by one of the rounds.

The boys called for help and cooperated with the investigation.

The 42-year-old man was transported to Pratt County Regional Medical Center where he is currently being treated.
