Crews working to repair water main break

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita city crews worked Tuesday to repair a water main break that occurred near 17th and Waco in Wichita.

City officials told KSN that an eight-inch cast iron main line broke around 10 a.m. Tuesday, which caused localized flooding.

Officials said there were a few local homes without water but they expect that water should be back on by 6 p.m. if not sooner.

Age was cited as the likely cause of the break since the weather has not been too hot and water demand has not been putting stress on the city lines.
