Rollover accident kills two south of Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Two people have been killed in a single-vehicle crash.

It shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of 103st South and Broadway.

A Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office sergeant says a 63-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were ejected from the vehicle Sunday morning. Authorities haven’t named the victims. They say they’re from Arkansas.

The couple was driving in an older model pickup south of Wichita on a road that transitions from pavement to dirt. The driver lost control and rolled the vehicle several times. The driver and passenger were thrown nearly 50 feet.

Both were taken to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The sergeant says neither was wearing a seatbelt.
