Fast food robbers leave victims in freezer

WICHITA, Kansas – Two female employees at Sonic were robbed at gunpoint and left in the freezer after being forced to open a safe for the robbers.

The incident was reported Sunday morning around 7a.m. in the 8600 block of W. Maple.

A victim reports that two black men entered as the business was opening for the day, both were wearing covered clothing from head-to-toes, except for the eyes and mouth.

A suspect showed a silver handgun, pointed it at the victim and told her to open the safe.

After opening the safe, the victims were forced to stay in the freezer as the robbers escaped in an unknown direction.

Sgt. Ed Bower with the Wichita Police Department reported that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the Sonic.

The victims did not report any injuries.
