Power restored in west Wichita after outage

Kellogg and West lights out

WICHITA, Kansas – Power has been restored in west Wichita after an outage.

The outage was reported around 4 p.m.

At the time, nearly 2,200 customers were without power.

Traffic lights at Kellogg and West Street and Kellogg and Meridian were out for about an hour.

Friends University also lost power.

Westar says an equipment failure in an underground line was the initial cause.
