Man dies after being injured in construction accident

WICHITA, Kansas – A 40-year-old man died Friday after being injured in a construction accident.

It happened July 31st at 5600 Lycee. It is near 53rd and Rock Road.

Workers at a construction site say they were trying to lift the man up in a wooden box.

The box slipped off the forklift and the man fell.

He hit his head.

The man was transported to Wesley Medical Center.

Police tell KSN the man has been identified as 40-year-old Benjamin Gomez.

He was in from Honduras on a work permit for a company out of Houston.

OSHA is investigating the accident.
