SYLMAR, California – A 3-year-old boy in southern California died after becoming trapped in a hot car Wednesday.

Police say the toddler was playing alone in the front yard of his home when he got into the car and couldn’t get out.

His parents and older brother were all inside the home taking a nap at the time.

The boy’s father woke up and found the child unresponsive.

It is not clear how long the boy was in the car.

He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating, but they do not suspect any foul play.
