Sheriff’s detention deputy arrested for shoplifting from Walmart

WICHITA, Kansas – On Tuesday night, a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s detention deputy was arrested for shoplifting.

It happened at the Walmart located at 21st and Maize.

The Wichita Police Department investigated the crime.

The police department issued a notice to appear in court on charges of petit theft.

The deputy was not booked in the Sedgwick County Jail.

The sheriff’s department says the deputy has been employed for less than a year.

As of this morning, the deputy is no longer employed with the sheriff’s office.
