Dollar General robbers leave empty handed

WICHITA, Kansas – A Dollar General in SE Wichita was robbed by two men on Wednesday around 5p.m.

Witnesses report that one of the two men pointed a handgun and demanded money from the employees.

One of the employees tried to open the register for the suspects while the other ran to the back to call police.

The suspects did not get any money from the store, but they did take a couple of drinks on their way out.

No one was injured.

The suspects were described as the following:

Suspect 1:

  • Black male, between 20-30 years old, 6’1″, approximately 150lbs.
  • Wore a white shirt, silver shorts, red baseball hat and had the handgun.

Suspect 2:

  • Black male, between 20-30 years old, 5’10″, approximately 150lbs.
  • Wore a grey t-shirt, dark shorts, white shoes, long black socks, and a t-shirt covering face.

The Dollar General has collected video surveillance of the suspects and has turned it over to authorities.
