Fire crews battle blaze at vacant apartment

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita fire crews worked to put a fire out early Wednesday in a downtown apartment complex.

The call came in just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Market and Lewis.

Smoke was coming from the building.

The building was vacant, but it took crews some time to gain access because it was boarded up.

No one was inside the apartment at the time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
