GREAT BEND, Kansas – Darrin Hirsh, a Kansas Highway Patrolman, was in court Monday for a bond hearing.

He was released on a $50,000 bond.

Hirsh was arrested earlier this month for violating a protection from abuse order.

Last month, he was arrested for alleged domestic violence.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threat, domestic battery, witness intimidation and violating a restraining order.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says he is on administrative leave without pay pending an internal investigation.

Hirsh’s preliminary hearing is set for August 28th in Barton County at 1 p.m.
