Van drives into Verizon store in Emporia

EMPORIA, Kansas – Emporia police report that a van crashed into the Verizon Wireless store in NW Emporia shortly before noon on Saturday.

Chuck Samples with KVOE said that paramedics brought three people inside the store who were injured to the hospital, along with the driver of the van.

As many as 10 people were in the store at the time, including customers and employees.

Police did say that 52-year-old Doris Simon of Emporia, the driver of the van, appeared to have suffered a medical condition.
