KANSAS CITY, Missouri (AP) – A 24-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with two robberies arranged on Craigslist, including one in which a Liberty couple was shot.

Jackson County prosecutors on Friday charged Debvon Buckner with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. The Kansas City Star reports he is one of four men taken into custody Thursday night in connection with the two crimes.

In the second robbery, two Liberty residents were shot after test driving a car advertised on Craigslist. Police say the seller walked away and two armed men confronted the couple.

Police say the robbers pointed their guns at the woman but her husband stepped in front of her and was shot several times. The woman also was shot once, while their teenage son was not injured. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
