Obama meets with Rick Perry to discuss the immigration crisis

DALLAS, Texas (NBC News) – President Obama was in Texas Wednesday evening, epicenter of the immigration crisis.

He wants $3.7 billion in emergency spending to deal with the human tide from Central America, but so far Republicans in Congress don’t appear eager to provide the funds.

His decision not to visit the border for a first-hand look at the situation while in Texas drew criticism from both Republicans and Democrats.
