Truck hits KDOT mower on I-70

MANHATTAN, Kansas (KSNT) – Just before 9 a.m. Tuesday authorities arrived on scene to investigate a box truck hitting a mower on Interstate 70 westbound near Manhattan at mile marker 317.

The driver of the mower did not appear to have injuries.

Riley County police tell Kansas First News the driver of the truck is being taken to a local hospital for minimal injuries.

The Kansas Department of Transportation confirmed with Kansas First News that it was a KDOT and the mower was heavily damaged.

A spokesperson for KDOT says the worker is “pretty shook up.”

The incident caused I-70 to reduce to one lane. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
