NEW YORK – The New York Knicks selected Wichita State All-American Cleanthony Early with the 34th pick in the second round of Thursday’s NBA draft.

Early became the highest draft choice out of WSU since Xavier McDaniel in 1985.

Ex-Shocker Toure Murry is also on the Knicks roster. He played in 51 games a year ago for New York.

Early was with WSU for two-straight NCAA appearances, including the Final Four in the 2012-2013 season. He also helped propel the Shockers to a 35-1 record last season.

Leading WSU in scoring, Early averaged 13.9 points and 16.4 points the last two years.
