WICHITA, Kansas – Kansas Congressman Mike Pompeo and his opponent in the 2014 GOP primary, former congressman Todd Tiahrt, will take part in a political forum hosted by the Wichita Crime Commission early next month, it was announced today by Crime Commission Executive Director Gordon Bassham.

“We are very pleased to host this important political forum,” said Bassham. “The GOP primary race for the Fourth Congressional District is an important one to all who live in the district. The members of the Wichita Crime Commission are very pleased Mr. Pompeo and Mr. Tiahrt will be participating.”

Bassham said the Crime Commission has hosted candidate forums for several years as a way to keep its membership informed about their choices for candidates running for public office. The forums will allow each candidate to make opening and closing statements and take questions from Crime Commission members and their guests submitted to the forum moderator, Dr. Paul Longhofer.

The Wichita Crime Commission’s Kansas Fourth Congressional District Candidates Forum will take place on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant, 5325 E. Kellogg Drive.

The forum will conclude at 1 p.m.

The forum is open to Crime Commission members and their guests.
