We reached out to Governor Sam Brownback to request an on-camera interview in response to the poll. His campaign declined and instead released this statement from Mark Dugan with the Brownback for Governor campaign:

“This campaign will be a choice between Sam Brownback – a Reagan Republican and Paul Davis – an Obama Democrat.  We are confident that once Kansans learn of the record of Sam Brownback and the record of Paul Davis, Kansans will ensure Governor Brownback wins re-election in November.”

“Education funding has increased every year under Governor Brownback’s leadership.  There are 676 more teachers in Kansas today than when Governor Brownback came into office.  Governor Brownback will keep fighting to get more money where it belongs – in Kansas classrooms.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
