Man arrested on suspicion of triple murder

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say three people were found shot to death early Tuesday in a home in southeast Wichita.

It happened in the 2200 block of South Beech around 12:15.

Police have identified the victims as 45-year-old Tuyet Huynh, 20-year-old Trinh Pham, and 21-year-old Sean Pham.

Police say they arrested a 41-year-old Vinh Van Nguyen. He has been arrested on suspicion on capital murder. He has not been officially charged.

Officers say he is the boyfriend of 45-year-old Tuyet Huynh. He was found in her bedroom after the shooting. Police recovered at least one weapon.

“He came out of the bedroom and gave himself up to officers,” said Detective Todd Ojile, Wichita Police Department.

Police say they also found a 5-month-old baby boy inside the home.

The baby was not harmed and is now in the custody of relatives.

Police add that they were informed of the shooting by 20-year-old Trinh Pham, who called 911 before being shot.

She was in the same room with the baby.

“No prior criminal calls or domestic violence at that residence, added Detective Ojile. “We are still processing the scene, we will be out there today.”

Another teen lives at the home, but  was out of town when the shootings happened.

So far this year, Wichita police say there have been 14 homicides.

There were 17 homicides in 2013.

Bond has been set at $2m.
