Local pharmacies targets of attempted extortion

WICHITA, Kansas — The Wichita Police Department is reporting that three local pharmacies were targeted by extortionists Wednesday.

According to police, employees at a Walgreens and two CVS pharmacies received calls from unknown suspects stating there were bombs in the store or parking lot.

Two of the calls demanded Green Dot Card numbers or money from their Green Dot machines.

No loss was reported stores were cleared. Police are encouraging all business owners to call 911 if they get a bomb threat.

  • CVS 10400 W 13th St N
