WICHITA, Kansas – Construction of new concrete pavement will close 37th Street beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday until 5 a.m. on Thursday.

Thru traffic will detour to 29th Street at Broadway and Hydraulic streets.

Local motorists should use Topeka, St. Francis, and Santa Fe streets via 33rd Street at Broadway or Ohio via 29th Street.

The $5.2 million project is widening 37th Street to a three-lane roadway.

Construction is also providing area storm drain improvements.

The project, which began in February, has a target completion date for spring 2015. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
