CHICAGO, Illinois – Sparked by a three-run homer by Salvador Perez and another winning outing from James Shields, the Kansas City Royals completed a three-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 6-3 victory Sunday.

Moving to 8-3, Shields won his fifth straight decision and the Royals improved their season-best win streak to seven games.

Shields surrendered three runs & 10 hits over six innings and Gregg Holland threw a scoreless ninth for his 20th save in 21 opportunities.

Eric Hosmer added a two-run homer for the Royals in the victory.

Royals manager Ned Yost was tossed out of the game for arguing a balk call on Shields in the first inning. It marked Yost’s third ejection of the season.

Set to face the division-leading Tigers, Kansas City will open a four-game series in Detroit on Monday.
