Thousands participate in Wichita heart walk

WICHITA, Kansas – Thousands of people put on their walking shoes to show their support for a good cause Saturday morning.

Walkers spent the morning walking at the South Practice Field of Wichita State’s Charles Koch Arena for the Wichita Heart Walk.

The event is put on annually by the American Heart Association.

This year’s event featured a 3-mile or 1-mile survivor walk.

The group says they were able to raise about $200,000, but are still $20,000 short of their goal.
