Kings claim Stanley Cup

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Los Angeles Kings are Stanley Cup champions for the second time in three years following a 3-2, double-overtime win over the New York Rangers in Game 5.

Alex Martinez won it by scoring on a rebound at 14:43 of the second OT after providing the series winner in overtime during the Western Conference finals.

Marian Gaborik tied the game in the third period, Jonathan Quick finished with 28 saves, and Justin Williams received the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the playoffs.
