NEWTON, Kansas – Harvey County authorities have released new details in the death of a 28-year-old teacher who died after being hit by a car.

The sheriff’s office says 28-year-old Crystal Stauffer of Newton died after she was struck Tuesday on a road west of Newton in Harvey County.

Investigators believe the accident was caused when the 40-year-old driver rolled her window back up after having dirt blow into her car by a passing vehicle.
