HAYS, Kansas – Major tree damage was reported in Hays early Thursday morning from the storms overnight.

The city began picking up limbs on city streets, sidewalks and alleys.

Once those are complete, the city will assist property owners by a city-wide cleanup of tree debris.

Homeowners have until 7 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, to remove tree limbs that have fallen on private property and place those limbs along the curb, but not in the street or over sidewalks.

Limbs not placed for pickup by 7 a.m. on the morning of Monday June 9, 2014 will become the property owner’s responsibility.

City staff will not enter private property to assist with limb removal.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the City of Hays Parks Department at 785-628-7375.
