Fidelity Bank near Central and Tyler robbed

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police are investigating a bank robbery.

It happened at the Fidelity Bank located near Central and Tyler Wednesday morning around 10:45 a.m.

Police say a man 40 to 50 years old, wearing blue jeans, a brown ball cap and sunglasses walked into the bank and demanded money.

He was armed with a handgun and took money from the bank.

“While he was inside, a customer came in, observed what was going on, customer went outside and when the suspect ran by him, the customer pursued him for approximately three blocks,” said Sgt. Bill Stevens, Wichita Police Department.

The suspect disappeared north of the bank.

“We have officers in the area including a K9 unit that’s retracing his route,” added Stevens.

Police are currently investigating.

No one was hurt in the robbery.
