MINNEAPOLIS, Kansas – An Ottawa County man was sentenced last week to nearly 20 years in prison after being found guilty of child sex crimes, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Thomas G. Retzlaff, 29, Minneapolis, was sentenced to 235 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections by Ottawa County District Judge Jerome P. Hellmer.

Retzlaff pleaded no contest in February to charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and rape. The crimes occurred in 2012.

The case was investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department. Assistant Attorney General Steve Karrer of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
