Davis files paperwork to run for governor

WICHITA, Kansas – Paul Davis and Jill Docking filed paperwork Thursday to officially run as candidates for governor and lieutenant governor.

Davis will challenge Republican Gov. Sam Brownback.

Davis, the House minority leader and Lawrence attorney, made the announcement Thursday on social media.

Last September, Davis announced that he was forming an exploratory committee to consider a campaign.

He has been in the Kansas House since 2003.

Davis is a Lawrence attorney.

His main focus is on education and protecting the middle class.
