Stanford golfer competing in Hutchinson, one victory away from passing Tiger Woods for most school wins

HUTCHINSON, Kansas – In the running to win the NCAA Golf Championships in Hutchinson this week, Stanford’s Patrick Rodgers is also closing in on making school history.

The Hogan Award winner and world’s top-ranked amateur is one victory away from passing Stanford alum Tiger Woods for most all-time wins at the school with 12.

Entering Monday’s play at Prairie Dunes, Rodgers (5 under) and his teammate Cameron Wilson (6 under) are in the lead individually. In the team competition, the Cardinal leads Alabama by four strokes at 12 under for the top seed in Tuesday’s match-play competition.

Win or lose, Rodgers says he plans on going pro after the school year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
