Fatal accident in Valley Center

VALLEY CENTER, Kan. — A fatal accident has been reported in Valley Center Saturday evening.

The accident involved one car and occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday at 101 St. and North Broadway St.

According to Sgt. Jeff Ohmart with the Sedgwick County sheriff’s office, the victim was in his late 50s and police are unaware if he was wearing a seat belt. Also, Sedgwick County sheriff’s office suspect alcohol was involved but that has not been confirmed.

The vehicle was an older model and slowly started veering off northbound Broadway before hitting a tree. The driver became pinned following the wreck.

Police are still investigating the accident.
