Sexton named NCAA DI-AAA A.D. of the Year

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Honored by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, WSU’s Eric Sexton is named the Athletic Director of the Year, in the NCAA Division I-AAA category.

Sexton was at the forefront of another standout year for the Shockers. Highlights included the men’s basketball team finishing 35-1 overall, winning the Missouri Valley Conference tournament title and going to the NCAA Tourney for the third straight year.

The Wichita State women’s basketball team also went to the NCAA Tournament. Beyond that, the WSU volleyball team, women’s golf, and tennis also turned in outstanding seasons. On the greens, men’s golf qualified to tee off in this week’s NCAA West Regional.
