Bob Dole makes stop in Newton

NEWTON, Kan. — Bob Dole is hitting the road again, continuing his tour of Kansas.

The former senator spent the evening in Newton, part of his 16-stop tour which ends on Thursday. When asked why he’s touring the state, he said he just wants to say thank you.

“I’m just, I don’t have any agenda. I’m not asking for anything, except for cookies. Just saying thank you to the people and I appreciate it.”

If you would like to see Dole in person, he will be at the Wichita State University Metroplex tomorrow morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
