Fire damages Hutchinson garage

HUTCHINSON, Kansas – A fire early Tuesday morning heavily damaged a garage and underground residence.

It happened around just before 5 a.m. in the 600 block of Carey Street.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

The garage was a complete loss, with damage to the residence, an outbuilding, and a vehicle.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The residence was vacant at the time of the fire.

No one was injured.
