Crews battle large fire in Park City

PARK CITY, Kansas – Authorities in Park City are still looking for the cause of a massive fire that caused one neighborhood to be evacuated.

Fire crews were called out to the Evergreen Palette Company near 61st and Broadway Sunday evening.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and crews on the scene say the wind helped the fire spread to a nearby tractor storage facility.

“The wind definitely played a factor in it today. The humidity was really low, the winds were high, this allowed the fire to move very quickly on the crews here. We had to call in for a lot of resources,” said Division Chief Dan Wegner, Sedgwick County Fire Department.

Several other fire and police departments helped out during the blaze.
