Flood water rescue caught on camera

MOBILE, Alabama (WPMI) – A Mobile, Alabama man is lucky to be alive after being rescued not once, but twice from raging flood waters overnight.

Early in the evening, a mobile police officer had to rescue the man after his vehicle became submerged in rising flood water.

Not too long after that, the man tried to return to his vehicle but was once again overcome by the swift current.

He had to cling to a tree for about 30 minutes.

Mobile Fire & Rescue arrived on the scene and a firefighter swam out to the stranded victim and put a life jacket on him.

The other fire-rescue workers then quickly pulled the firefighter and the victim back to safety.

Fire officials say the man not only put himself in danger, but also rescue crews.
