WSU holds 2014 men’s basketball celebration

WICHITA, Kansas – Finishing 35-1, the Wichita State Men’s Basketball Team held a celebration on Thursday night commemorating one of the best seasons in college basketball history.

With Shocker Nation on hand, WSU players and coaches received season-ending awards, addressed the crowd, and showed highlights from the 2013-’14 season that ended with a narrow NCAA Tournament loss to Kentucky.

WSU’s 35-0 start was the best in NCAA history. They also won the the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship for the first time in over twenty years.

Fred VanVleet won the leadership award on Thursday, Ron Baker most inspirational player, and Cleanthony Early was voted team MVP.
