University bans graduation selfies

(WFLA) — The University of South Florida Student Affairs office announced Wednesday that students should refrain from taking “selfies” while on stage during the university’s graduation ceremony this spring.

The graduation etiquette announcement “respectfully requested” that the students wouldn’t step, march, stroll or take “selfies” while on stage with the USF President Judy Genshaft.

According to the announcement, the school may discipline those who refuse to abide by these rules and even withhold the degree. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
