GARDEN CITY, Kansas – The Garden City Electrical Department is warning residents of bogus calls.

The department has received calls from citizens saying they have been receiving calls from individuals stating they work for the Electrical Department.

The unknown caller tells the citizens that their electrical meters are non-operational and the cost for replacement is $600.

Caller identification shows that the calls came from the City Electrical Departments main number.

The Electrical Department wants all citizens to know that these calls are not being made by their department, and they do not take payments at their location.

The Garden City Police Department is investigating the phone calls.
