MUSTANG, Okla. (AP) — Emergency medical officials say two Mustang elementary students and one adult were hospitalized after an accident during an event marking the Oklahoma land run anniversary.

Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman Lara O’Leary says about 10 people were injured at Centennial Elementary about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and three were taken to hospitals — each in good condition — while the others were treated at the scene.

O’Leary says paramedics initially reported five had been transported.

No ages were immediately released and school officials did not immediately return phone calls for comment.

Authorities told reporters the accident happened when a carriage overturned.

Tuesday is the 125th anniversary of the land run that opened what is now Oklahoma to settlers. Numerous schools statewide hold commemorative events each year on the anniversary.
